I'm Thangam Shanmugam, a graphic and brand designer based in Bristol, UK, with six years of experience across in-house and freelance roles.

For the past two years I've worked independently, designing brand identities, social media systems, presentation decks, and print work for clients across the MENA region.

Before that, I spent four years in-house, which is where I learned how to work at volume without losing quality, and how to keep a brand consistent across hundreds of assets and multiple markets. A significant part of my work has been bilingual, designing in both English and Arabic for audiences across the Middle East and Africa. That experience with right-to-left typography, cultural nuance, and regional adaptation is something I bring to every project that involves communicating across languages or cultures.

I'm currently completing an MA in Design Communication at UWE Bristol (which ends in September, 2026), where my research focuses on illustration-led wayfinding and public space design.
